AI Safety Brief
A plain-English summary of the conditions at your beach right now.
RipCo runs computer vision on existing public beach cameras and shows rip currents as a clear visual warning, outlined in red on a live view of the water, before you step in.
RipCo is an aid, not a lifeguard. Rip currents can appear even in calmer-looking water. Always swim between the red and yellow flags.
The problem
A rip current is a narrow channel of water flowing away from shore. It does not splash or roar. It often looks like the calmest gap between the waves, and that is exactly what makes it dangerous.
Figures from RipCo’s own survey of beachgoers. This is our primary research, not third-party or industry data.
How it works
Step 01
RipCo reads existing public beach camera feeds. No new hardware, no drones. The cameras are already pointed at the water.
Step 02
The model analyses the feed frame by frame and looks for the visual signature of a rip: a darker channel, a gap in the breaking waves, foam pulling out to sea.
Step 03
When a likely rip is found, RipCo outlines it in red with a confidence percentage, and points you back to the flags and the lifeguards.

Our commitment
It is an aid, not a verdict. Detection can miss rips, cameras can go down, and conditions change in minutes. Whatever RipCo shows, always swim between the red and yellow flags and follow the lifeguards.
